Hello Everyone

England is currently in India, playing 4 test match series

Summary of the events so far:

  • First test match was played in Chennai [Feb 5-9, 2021]
    England won by 227 runs

  • Second test match was also played in Chennai [Feb 13-17, 2021]
India won by 317 runs. A good comeback.

  • Third test match was played in Ahmedabad [Feb 24-28, 2021]
The match was a day-night match. The match was played with the pink ball.
India won the match by 10 wickets.
The match lasted for only 5 sessions, less than 2 days.
The pitch helped the spinners and they took 28 wickets out of the 30 wickets that fell. Joe Root took 5 wickets for 8 runs. Axar patel took 11 wickets
Another highlight was Ashwin took his 400th wicket in this test.

Side effect, Many blamed that the pitch was not good and started spinning from the first day.

Now, the final test, starts tomorrow and will be also played in Ahmedabad.
The only difference is that it is day match and will be played with red ball

It will be interesting to see how the pitch behaves with the red ball
As it will be a day match and there may be swing for fast bowlers too.

The final match has a significance, as England wants to win and tie the series 2-2
If india lose the match they will not qualify for the test finals in england this summer. So a win or a draw is favourable for india.

Should be a good competition, stay tuned.

Farhad.
