Salutations
I am JaiChai.
And if I haven't had the pleasure to make your acquaintance, it's very nice to meet you now.
A Special Class for my Special Needs

Traditional school was never my thing.
I habitually got into all sorts of trouble.
Consequently, my father and mother were forced to pick me up from the principal's office many times. They also received many notices from teachers complaining about my behavior.
It wasn't that I was a born troublemaker. It's just that I honestly was bored 99% of the time.
The Phone Call

One night, my father got a note from a teacher explaining that I was to be tested for ADHD (referred as simply ADD at that time) and perform a battery of standardized IQ tests; supposedly to justify taking me out of regular classes.
I was tested for ADD. Results: negative. And the IQ tests were worse than sitting in class.
Then my father got another evening call from the school.
"Uh-hum. Yes I understand. I will tell him to do as you suggest. Thank you," my father said, in his usual diplomatic tone.
After my Dad told me that I was to go to Room #303 and meet my new teacher and classmates, I thought, "Great. Now EVERYONE WILL REALLY KNOW I'm an idiot."
Then my Dad added, "You need to start studying there now. It's a special class to meet your special needs."
Room #303

I went to Room# 303 and was greeted by my new teacher. He looked like Abraham Lincoln - complete with beard, broad smile and piercing eyes.
Looking at the students in the class, I was sure I was an idiot now. They all looked retarded to me.

"As you know, this is a special class. And here's how we do things in this class. You have three days to give me a proposal as to what you plan to accomplish this year. If approved, you will provide me with a weekly 15 minute progress report and must share with the class what you've learned twice this year." Mr. Abraham-the-new-teacher-Lincoln said.
Dumbfounded, I asked, "Huh? Isn't this the dumb kids class?
Chuckling, Mr. Lincoln said, "I don't know where you got that idea. This is The Gifted Program. Your IQ scores were impressive, most impressive indeed. Fact is, I've been teaching this program for seven years and I've never seen a kid's IQ score THAT HIGH before!"
Imagine that?
