Musings about Business Ethics
(

Yes, business is business.
There must be someone on the other side of the table for any transaction to occur.
Sometimes, one person makes a profit and the other person gets something worth more to them than the money.
This is honest, win/win business.
Other times, the best the other person can hope for in a transaction is to cut their losses ASAP and stem any financial hemorrhaging in order to keep the doors open, retain employee jobs and to fight the "good fight" another day.
Again, this is honest, win/lose-less business.
Unfortunately, a lot of predatory AND legal business occurs where it's clearly a win/totally-lose scenario.
However, as long as no laws have been broken, it's still honest, win/totally-lose business.
It's called fair competition that produces more or better products, while costing the consumer less - assuming no antitrust laws are broken (aka unlawful support of monopolies).
But imagine this.
When agreements are transformational vice transnational, something emerges that is greater than the sum of its parts.
This is a precious, win/win business situation.
And it's very rare.
TBH, after years in the legacy markets and the crypto space, IMHO, win/win business gives me longer personal satisfaction and less insomnia.
Now to make it more personal, ponder this: As an investor or trader of any asset, you are always on one or the other side of the table.
Where do you fit in the above business scenarios?
For example (and hypothetically, of course), as a referrer to any one of the millions of crypto projects, are you providing full disclosure?
Or are you banking on the fact that most people are new to the space and don't read the fine print?
If so, you are playing "The Greater Fool's Game". And it's a game that easily puts you in the patsy seat before you know it.
What happens if you unknowingly participate in a scam?
Could you convince others of the "unknowingly" part?
"Think of your reputation as the Roman Empire. It wasn't built in one day. But it can burn quickly."
Submitted for you to Ponder during some quiet time.

About the Author:
Believing that school was too boring, he dropped out of High School early; only to earn an AA, BS and MBA in less than 4 years much later in life – while working full-time as a Navy/Marine Corps Medic.
In spite of a fear of heights and deep water, he performed high altitude, free-fall parachute jumps and hazardous diving ops in deep, open ocean water.
After 24 years of active duty, he retired in Asia.
Since then, he's been a full-time, single papa and actively pursuing his varied passions (Writing, Disruptive Technology, Computer Science and Cryptocurrency - plus more hobbies too boring or bizarre for most folk).
He lives on an island paradise with his girlfriend, teenage daughter and two dogs.
