The City Of No Hope : Micro-fiction

His jovial attitude has cracked many of us up several times, we never seem to have enough of Bonsei joke, he never seems to know the difference between sadness and joy.

I lost my dad at a very tender age, so suffering has become part of my meal. I've been depressed lots of time but the hope of what tomorrow holds keeps me alive. Bonsei was the opposite, blessed with a loving parent and more than an average family. So all was right.

I remember that fateful day, Bonsei didn't show up in class but we didn't care to check on him. With the second day repeating the same pattern, no sign of Bonsei, a little asking about but no lead, we gave up, where could this fun lover be. But I smell something wasn't right.

On the third day, we had a call from Bonsei's landlord who called about a stench odour coming from his window, in haste we doubled up there and quickly had the door broken. And there lies the most horrible scene I've ever seen in my life. Bonsei's skin has turned deep black and his stomach more protrund than a pregnant woman with a bottle of pesticide beside him. Why would such a bright kid like his decide to chicken out of life. Where is his hope. The answer lies in his left hand : a woeful result of our last exam. We all knew how dull Bonsei is. Now we know all wasn't right.
