This middlemen revolution against the oligarchs and fatty whales getting fatter and stronger on the back of minnows is starting to look like the well deserved middle finger the Wall Streets were disserving. Chances are that you have already read all over the news and on Leofinance about the #wallstreetbets saga and what followed after.
Moving on from the short squeeze of the GME stock to Robinhood halting trading and even closing users trades on GME at their will it's obvious that the financial markets are meant for the rich to get richer and the poor actually feeding the rich's riches. Cryptocurrency and blockchain technology can ease a bit of that pain and there's plenty of reasons and whys it should do that.
Bittrex will list every single stock that RobinhoodApp delists as a tokenized stock. How about that? When a door gets shut in your face, a window is open to enter the house of financial wealth. Bittrex has already listed $GME, $BB, $SLV, $NOK, $AMC among other tokenized stocks. The #deleterobinhood initiative gets a boost for retail traders from the option made possible by Bittrex to be able to trade stocks without the need of the Robinhood app.
“We intend to list every stock that gets delisted from platforms like Robinhood, so that even small investors have the same opportunities afforded to multibillion-dollar financial institutions. The current situation feeds into the narrative that the financial system is rigged against the little guy. We believe blockchain, decentralization, and cryptocurrencies will finally put retail investors on a more equal footing with financial institutions who have been gaming the markets for decades.”
Bittrex Global CEO, Tom Albright source
I've mentioned quite a few times in my posts recently that I believe the tokenization process of almost anything is just getting started. I've played with this idea ever since I discovered Steem and found about actifit and DTube and all these apps that would reward you with the internet money for all sort of mundane activities and social media related stuff.
We didn't actually had the catalyst for that to spread globally, but these #wallstreetbets have pulled the trigger for the shift from using the tools created by Wall Street for building wealth to creating our own ones. Yes, Bittrex is a financial institution after all, it does not belong to the people, it's not a DEX either, but it empowers the people. Stocks booted from Robinhood app found their place as tokenized versions on Bittrex.
We now have paintings that are being sold in the form of NFTs for hundreds of thousands of dollars on the internet, we have thousands of cryptocurrencies that are to be called world wide accepted assets for years now and tokens are being vomited from all sort of platforms into their users wallets for their activities online. Kind of how Bitcoin started when the blockchain was pouring bitcoins every other ten minutes to almost anyone's wallet mining it with a PC.
We could say that we've entered the era of Bitcoin 2.0 or the tokenized world of the future. The internet is no longer just a soup of information and a place to waste time playing video games and consuming content, no sir, the internet is having the core to become a self sustainable economy. Not too many are probably realizing that at the moment.
Bitcoin was born out of a crisis and the urge to have a new type of currency that would middle finger banksters, and although it hasn't fully achieved that, it's become more valuable than some national currency currently are. You can no longer mine it with a laptop and it's gradually becoming the digital gold, but this gold has already gave birth to its babies that are happy to play with the average Joes spending time online and willing to have a piece of the world's wealth pie.
Exciting times are waiting for us ahead, and it feels so great being around here involved in this revolution. One that will probably kill the stressing 9 to 5s for many of us and leave room for the so much praised robots to do the work, while we can monetize part of our time and enjoy the rest of it. #wallstreetbets hasn't turned the world upside down but it has sparked some brains and ideas that will change the world.
