Michael Saylor is probably the most famous, "the diamond of the diamond hands", and definitely the most toxic Bitcoin maxi. The only good thing about him is shilling Bitcoin(not crypto) to wealthy individuals such as Elon Musk. I appreciate his devotion to Bitcoin but I don't respect his stance on crypto as a whole.
The man is a maxi and he's toxic. Period.
It was announced recently in the crypto world that he bought 2,500 BTC more and his stake, or better said MicroStrategy's stake sits now at 132,500 BTC. The average purchasing price was something around $30,000. The man clearly knows how to dollar cost average...
Is Bitcoin "the best blockchain/crypto"? I don't know, @mindtrap argued in a reply to Michael that Monero "might be better", but when asking such a question we should first and foremost think about what exactly is "Bitcoin the best and there's no second best"...
If we're talking security... yeah, most probably there's no second best... so far, but if we're talking transaction speeds and fees, Hive is probably doing a hell lot of a better job than Bitcoin does. Oh and then there's centralization, or decentralization...
Nobody is talking about that, but Bitcoin is centralized as hell the way I see it. Most of the hash rate is handled by large mining pools, individuals no longer being able to compete with such entities, thus in this regard, we can't say that Bitcoin is that decentralized as we thought it would be.
The same kind of applies to distribution and that's where Saylor is making things worse. Somehow... I mean, we can't blame him for having that much Bitcoin, we can blame us for not having enough... But whenever I see plebs cheering upon the news that Michael Saylor bought more Bitcoin I feel like laughing...
That many bitcoins in the hands of one person is not something to celebrate imo. I would rather prefer seeing millions of tiny owners HODLing than seeing MicroStrategy swallowing more and more BTC and shouting that they will never sell.
The dough is in their hands and there's nothing stopping them from buying more, but don't be fooled by maxis, Bitcoin is not the best and Saylor becoming a fatty and greedy whale is not good for Bitcoin. The way I see it, as a blockchain/coin for the masses, Hive does a way better job than Bitcoin. What do you think?
Thanks for your attention,
Adrian
