We were supposed to have "a Moonvember" this year and see BTC at $98k during that month and December should have been the "everything season" when BTC would touch $135k and alts would fly to the moon, according to some analysts.
None has happened and in my opinion is literally impossible to have a $100k BTC by the end of the year, unless some country literally starts buying tons of it.
What did the analysts do wrong?... Or better said, what has Bitcoin done wrong?
Well, in the case of the analysts, I'd say that basing their analysis and predictions on past performance was the numero uno bad move of theirs. I can still remember some of the charts of Rektcapital, from the beginning of this year, regarding the peak for Bitcoin, which was supposed to happen somewhere near October 4 and how high the largest cryptocurrency by market cap should fly.
With respect to the man's TA skills, Rektcapital was dead wrong on these ones. I don't know what's he up to lately because I have unfollowed him, same as I did with many others, but the work of such peeps shared on twitter looks so outdated to me. The only one that seems to be levelheaded and "clean in his narratives" is Kevin Svenson.
I have unfollowed plenty of crypto analysts on twitter because I find their desperate tries to "make December happen" so lame. I mean, if you have a spine and heavy balls you will admit you were wrong in your forecasts, you start embracing uncertainty and move along with the market.
I don't know if you have noticed it, but the crypto market has developed "such a talent" to show the middle finger to no matter what expectations the crypto gurus throw at us through the twitter feeds. It's like there's some entity counter trading them constantly.
According to on-chain analysis, it seems that the most avid buyers of Bitcoin are whales that are probably doing that more as a hedge against the fucked up world economy rather than use their stacks to dump on the market when BTC will get to that $100k level, or more...
We might not see BTC at $100,000 in 2022 either and I'm perfectly fine with that. Some say that a Bitcoin spot ETF approved in the US is the savior of the crypto markets vigor, which is quite diminished lately. I don't know about that.
What I'm seeing is a lack of direction. It's like almost everybody is somehow on waiting mode and the few swings in prices that we have are nothing more but market manipulation. There's not much fuzz anymore.
It's probably because some other branches of the industry are developing, sucking funds and attention towards them. NFTs have managed to do that in quite a way this year. Blockchain games have played their part for this matter as well and the whole industry is expanding way beyond its volatile/tradable nature. WEB3 is the next to steal the show from Bitcoin.
Hive is about to have another game launched in January, called Ragnarok, and the whole industry is not that much about Bitcoin anymore, or just swing trading those halving cycles. I have absolutely no doubt that we have gone off these halving cycles bubbles already. We've reached the point when practicality has taken the main role away from trading.
Just ignore prices...
Especially during these challenging times that we are living, I believe that many more who will be driven towards crypto are going to do that from an earning through participation perspective and not much as investors/traders.
It's supposed that our real world economy is gradually moving to the online world, into metaverses, WEB3, #playtoearn and other industries that are gaining traction. Do you think all of that "will give a shit" about the halving cycles? I'd say No...
We are at a point where the halving cycles don't matter that much anymore, because it's not mainly about Bitcoin anymore. The fuzz is no longer about being in crypto, but more about engaging with crypto. That's what these analysts are missing, while stubbornly attaching themselves to their charts.
Just look at Hive... we have so so much development taking place right now. There's so many tribes and second layer tokens, that is no longer just about Hive/HIVE. The main token is probably holding its level steadily due to the development across all subsidiary branches, but the whole picture is so different from four years ago.
Crypto is no longer about speculation. Just follow the news and you will see there's so much happening and IT'S STILL EARLY. When exponential growth will finally start spinning the wheels properly, being involved in crypto will be so much time consuming. It's gonna be worth it because crypto is freedom, I'm 100% sure of that.
Thanks for attention,
Adrian
