I would not have believed it if I hadn’t of seen it with my own eyes. Ok, maybe I would have. This is the 21st century after all and it looks like churches are going crypto and tithing with Bitcoin is really a thing now.
You don’t even need to attend church; you can tithe Sunday morning in your pajamas drinking your gourmet coffee in your favorite chair if you want. Or, on your phone while you are headed for your favorite fishing spot. Would you feel any better about missing church service if you at least tithed? A company in Arizona is betting you will.

To imply that tithing with Bitcoin is the way to open any door to blessings is just plain . . . well hypocritical to me. An outright lie if you please. Don’t get me wrong, tithing with Bitcoin could very well be profitable for any organization but the advertising leaves much to be desired. What is actually being sold here?
The man behind this (and I will leave his name out of it) is a self proclaimed Bitcoin miner and crypto enthusiast. You think? I have to give him credit for making it uber simple though. He even has a QR code you can scan to donate Bitcoin.
Should an institution rely on something as speculative as crypto currency to pay bills, expand, and provide services to the community? It has no backing nor is it regulated by any bank, insurance company, or the government. Remember when Mt Gox “lost” around 850,000 Bitcoins and had to file for bankruptcy?

The bottom line is, does any organization, particularly a not for profit organization, want to risk surviving on something unregulated, uninsured, and speculative like crypto? Isn’t that like doing business and attempting to survive off stocks? But wait, even stocks are regulated! Churches aren’t hedge fund managers. Until Bitcoin has some kind of backing and regulations, I would think In God We Trust and all others pay cash.
