True Christianity and true Socialism By Mike Vargas
In my cafe ministries days, I often patronized an eatery called “Morning Glory Diner”. It was a humble establishment that served good food. Christians felt safe and secure there, and those that worked there were very friendly and hospitable. That was close to twenty years ago, before the events of 911, in a United States culture that now only exist in the minds of those old enough to remember. From then till now is actually a very small expanse of time, however the culture has dramatically changed during this period. The current state of the morning Glory Diner illustrates this perfectly.
This establishment is no longer on peace with the community of faith. The decor used to be patriotic, now it is anarchistic. No longer are the daily specials posted in the windows, but have been replaced by political messages of hateful concepts. No longer are you free to enjoy a meal while you discuss your biblical values with like minded friends. Now the only speech allowed by management, must adhere leftist political talking points or else you could be forcibly removed. The only form of Christianity allowed to be practiced there is one of complete hypocrisy, based on a lie that the only true Christian are socialist. The truth is that the principals of biblical faith and the ideals of socialism as close as the east is from the west.
The goal of true Christians is to explore and emulate the life of Jesus Christ. They endeavor to walk to the same road that the good Lord walked, and to live according his values. Jesus loved and honor God the Father above all else. Secondly he loved and served others. He put his own interest last. According to Christ God is to honored above the establishment order of this world. Jesus could have avoided the cross all together, by just compromising the way of the Father, but opted to die then to deny the one that sent him into the world. He was willingly to go to the cross, to be a sacrifice for sins of everyone else, while he himself was blameless. Christ’s priorities in life was this God first ,man second, himself last. Jesus always put a high value on individual souls. He is the good shepherd that leaves ninety nine, just to find one that gone astray. This is totally opposite to socialist precepts.
In socialism the state is a god. The government dictates everything. Men are valued as nothing more than drone workers for the hive collective. The only view point that matters are those of the establishment elite. Those at the top are only interested in keeping power over the populous. The socialist values are government first, the population are nothing more than a mindless herd, and third God does not exist. The of welfare the hive is greater than that of an individual. According to socialism if one does not go along with the masses he must die.
In conclusion I would like to state that before I became a Christian, I was being groomed as a messenger of socialistic humanism. From my personal experience my testimony is that socialism is a system that brings poverty and shame to people just satisfy the lust of a privileged few. In contrast the teachings of Jesus brings peace, and meets the needs of all men, and leads to abundance in all areas of culture. In socialism oppression rules. In the kingdom of God presented by Christ God rules through justice, mercy and love. This what happened at the cross, Jesus took the justice of God for all our wrong doing, so that God may show his mercy in love. Socialism fails because it has no love or mercy built into it. Without these things it will only produce death not life. It was the socialist establishment of the Lord’s day that killed Jesus. However he did not stay dead, and his spirit still preaches his message today. Jesus has opened the door to a greater way.
