One of the most memorable quotes on music I remember was "Music expresses that which cannot be said, and that which is impossible to stay silent". So on that note: Can anyone recommend some good tunes? ๐๐ถ
I (almost) like all sorts of music, and I do mean all sorts, really a wide variety of different cultures, languages, styles and rhythms. I don't care, as long as it in the moment, speaks to me on what I need to hear. But apart from the current mood, I sometimes also look up older songs and for a long time used to think that I was the only one who did so not just for the music itself, but also for the memory of those times. Glad to know that I was wrong and I am not the only one. I can imagine you probably know this old one no matter what language you speak or region you live in.
I could be wrong, but I remember how despite it's catchy tune and success it didn't win the Latin award for best song that year because of the more mainstream Ricky Martin song which came out that same year:
Not that I care for awards in music or anything, most of that stuff is just politicized and for pure marketing purposes, like the band pandemic of the 90s. Gawd how we hated them back then. Even as kids we despised their same old tired songs, lyrics and cringefest dancing. But the main reason I mention this is that the most successful crypto song (yes there is a crypto song) immediately reminded me of those boy/girl band music videos. Ironically enough this one was a scam as well and had as much to do with crypto as those 90s bands had to do with music.

Slow songs are sometimes more of an emotional masterpiece than just music. Just recently, the murderers who robbed X got sentenced to life in prison.
Every now and then I go back to listen to some of his and Shiloh's songs and it's still as if it's the first time I hear them.
IDK what it is with slow/sad songs and if in some cases, it's the thought they are no longer with as to why their music and sound speak to you in ways you didn't even know you could understand, but this Iranian singer who passed away a few years ago had an amazing talent for that.
I can't really describe it, but it has something so authentic, so pure it just makes you believe. Speaking of authentic, I found out some of the most iconic and successful songs were actually just covers/rip offs of lesser known artists. Most of us probably know Torn from Natalie Imbruglia, except that it was originally from a band called Ednaswap who release it 2 years prior.
I really, really don't want to make this about propaganda or the fakestream media, but just go ahead and ask something as simple as this from people around you. Ask if they know who wrote "Torn" and I guarantee you +90% will either say Natalie or 'that girl with the short hair'. The point is if people can't even be bothered to know the facts and details of something they like which is not exactly being kept a secret, how on earth can you expect them to spend time and look for the details of boring and often covert stuff such as geo-politics?
Anyways getting back OT, whenever I need an upbeat rhythm this is one of the places I go looking:
Songs from the far East have something unique as well. Their upbeat rhythms or slow singing tones have this amazing foreign yet somehow still familiar feel to it:
Then there is the trip down memory lane, the nostalgia, the feelings from a time which has long passed, but the memories of them are alive and well for as long as we shall live. The songs we listen to not just for the song in itself, but for the memories of those times when we first heard it:
