Another dirtbag bites himself....dirt that is, or was the saying biting dust? I'm not sure, anyways getting straight to the point, because in order to break this viscous cycle on how these dirtbags/dustbags gain so much attention and popularity in the crypto world, there needs to be repercussions for more than just this Mashinsky guy.
Yes we are again addressing these delusional "influencers" who crawl all over social media and spread names like Celsius or Luna around like a pandemic, only to afterwards when it all comes crashing down make their little sob videos about how it's "bad times man, bad times for everyone in the crypto world", while they were for months filling their pockets shilling junk like Celsius, NFY, Luna or Blockfi to their viewers.
I'll let you in on a little secret, it isn't their brilliant trading tactics, this shameless shilling is how these bottom feeders make their money you know. This is in large also the money they invest with, it's not like they get up at 7 like most of their fanbase does to work a daily 9-to-5 routine and then afford to invest a few hundred Euros every month, which then disappears like snow before the sun thanks to their (not) financial advisers they found online one unfortunate day. No, these lowlifes get approached by FTX to say they have an account there and introduce the site on their channel, they get paid to mention Blockfi, they have deals and referral links to Celsius which earns them a whooooole lot more than that 50 Dollars you'd got if you made the mistake of signing up.
This is starting to sound like angry ranting, but that's because many of these assfluencers who are essentially culprits in the Celsius saga are still around, still being viewed by tens of thousands and it's only a matter of time before some other dirtbag approaches them with an even bigger bag of Bitcoin to mention some other destined to fail crypto or site, and they'll again gladly oblige. I'm honestly starting to think the only way we can break this cycle is to start naming and shaming them the way we did Trevon, 'crypto nick' and others. But before such a list is there, maybe you should think back and remember if your favorite crypto Youtuber mentioned stuff like Celsius or Non Fungible Yearn to you. If so then take everything you opted for based on their "non financial" advice and quickly put it under a microscope, and also be sure to take of all their future (non)advice with a bag of salt.
In other news: This CVE-2023-36884 stuff from Microsoft is a bit puzzling. It's another zero day vulnerability which is actually already being used to hack into people's PC, but Microsoft has as of yet not released an update for it. Instead, you are advised to take (one of) the following steps yourself:
- In current attack chains, the use of the Block all Office applications from creating child processes Attack Surface Reduction Rule will prevent the vulnerability from being exploited.
- Organizations who cannot take advantage of these protections can set the FEATURE_BLOCK_CROSS_PROTOCOL_FILE_NAVIGATION registry key to avoid exploitation. No OS restart is required, but restarting the applications that have had the registry key added for them is recommended in case the value was already queried and is cached. Please note that while these registry settings would mitigate exploitation of this issue, it could affect regular functionality for certain use cases related to these applications. For this reason, we suggest testing. To disable the mitigation, delete the registry key or set it to “0”.
- Add the following application names to this registry key as values of type REG_DWORD with data 1
