It is the time of the "vacas flacas" as they say in Spanish (skinny cows) in the crypto world, most coins have gone down driven by the sharp drop in Bitcoin price which has gone from $12,000.00 during the last seven days to below $10,000.00 a few minutes ago.

This is a serious setback for all crypto investors, even if they have been saying that BTC would pull back all the way down to $8,000.00, when things like this do happen a lot of people are hurt, of course I know there are people who just HODL and don't care about how prices behave as they expect their returns in the long run, but for people who invest looking for a quick profit these drops are hell.

And there is no escape except for 10 alt coins some of which have made some fair gains or at least are stable (except ICON which is really up, but I don't even know what ICON is) the rest of the top 90 are down and some of them are really down, Steem which is my benchmark is down to $0.17 if it goes on like this it could go all the way to its all time low of $0.07, let's hope not.

Now why this drop in prices? Well for one thing all the world markets are in upheaval, all the benchmark markets are down and hard, the main culprit is supposed to be the ongoing tariff war between the US and China, but I don't know I saw Trump blame the Federal Reserve for this, but weren't his tariffs the thing that triggered this? Could he be just an elite agent out to get us? Maybe, I am not much of a believer in conspiracy theories. But I do believe this fear of a recession could have an effect on the voluble crypto market, people don't know where to put their money and crypto makes them afraid so they put it elsewhere, mainly because all the MSM has at one point printed horror stories about crypto.

Let's hope this is just a short fix and we will see the prices back up in the coming days, especially Steem, that one really frightens me.
