Back in the 70's and 80's I lived in what was then a small and relatively backward town , in the 70's I was in secondary school and finished high school, for most of the '80's I was a bum. But I had some talents that were very useful to me and made me quite popular. For one, I had this you could call it gift that I was very good with numbers, I could multiply two and three figure numbers in my head in a jiffy and people liked to see me do it and I was kind of stuck up because of that.
Then I was also one of the very few people in town who had a good knowledge of the English language and since I was young and easy going whenever someone had problems with English, like homework or needed some instructions read I was the guy they came to see about it.
Along the same way I was also an encyclopedia of general knowledge, things just seem to stick with me, like for example I knew what city was the capital of every country and colony in the world, useless but I knew it, I even knew the capitals of the tribelands the South African regime created like Transkei. Well people also liked to see me show off with my knowledge.
Then along came computers and worst of all the internet, all of a sudden people could just search for what they wanted and they found much more information than I could possibly know, you just type Transkei in the address bar and you get not only the capital but also the inhabitants, GDP, and all the stats you can want.
And then came cell phones and now everybody has one, and to my distress all cell phones have a calculator, yes, we had calculators back in the "70's but nobody walked around with one of them.
So actually Artificial Intelligence (and we aren't even there yet) made me obsolete, so yes I believe AI is very dangerous for humans.
