Invitation To Battle For The $5K Prize Pool + Tips & Tricks For New Users

The name LeoFinance may seem a bit intimidating at first if finance-related topics aren't your thing but don't worry, on Threads you can write about literally anything! Consider the finance part as just one of the many communities on Leo Threads while the platform is so much more and no better way to start than the Zealy campaign!

I took part in the previous Leo Zealy campaign and must say it sometimes felt a bit overwhelming but as we were getting closer to the end I realized that it's the consistency that matters. You don't have to push extra hard every day but instead do something each day - be out there.

Zealy - Your Ticket To Micro-Blogging

In my opinion, the best part of the Zealy adaptation campaign is the journey itself. The quests are built in a way that if you keep doing them and following the rules, you will start earning $LEO without you even noticing! For example, this very article I'm writing now is something I'm going to submit to a quest. If and when I follow all the rules and it gets accepted it will earn me +10 XP toward the Zealy sprint. I know, it isn't much that's not the thing. You see, if this gets curated, I can earn a nice amount of HIVE and HBD. Also, by promoting it a little on Threads, I can get more visibility for my post and if people like it, they might vote for it earning me more HIVE and LEO, depending on the amount of their stake.

Each post or thread is also a chance to gain a following, to meet like-minded people on the platform or outside of it(yes, I'm going to share on other blogging platforms as well). Making friends and being a part of the community has some true value that never should be underestimated.

If I was to start on Hive right now I would probably keep my focus on Threads at first. Micro-blogging really shouldn't be neglected as I often might earn much more threading compared to writing a long-form post. Besides, the threshold to start is really low, it doesn't have to be a piece of art or anything, just pieces of your mind - anything.

Communities

It's really easy to interact with different communities through Leo Threads. If you'd like to post to a Splinterlands community for example, all you need to do is to use the hashtag #splinterlands - you don't even need to go to the community page but instead just publish on the main feed! It will then be visible to those who browse the Splinterlands community feed or search for the tag.

Now, if my friends on other Hive front-ends are reading this, I would encourage you to make the best out of Threads and start micro-blogging on your favourite community page. It's a two-way street - the community posts are also visible on the main feed and can very likely attract new users to the community.

How To Get Upvotes & Stand Out

Below I have listed some tips and tricks to easily get your micro-blogging going:

Engage - write, like, comment.

- Commenting on other user's posts is a really good way to get "inside". For me, it also works as a great way to fight writer's block. We all get those days when even writing a small piece of text feels overwhelming. On those occasions, I just start scrolling down the main feed and pretty quickly I usually find an interesting thread I just need to reply to. From there on the block is gone and I'm often inspired to start making my own threads which can let some good threading marathon sessions!

- Liking or upvoting is also something I pay attention to. If get upvotes from time to time from the same user it tells me that they share similar interests and I then often check out their content. A good and easy way to find like-minded users and "keep your name out there".

Add profile pic and bio.

- Even though this is Web 3.0 and many people want to stay anonymous, it doesn't hurt to add some flair to your profile - something that other users will perhaps remember you by. You might say it's a kind of branding and that could prove out to be a good thing in the long run.
- Besides, there's always something shady and bot-like in those great, generic profile pictures. 😉

Stake some LEO

- Once you have a few LEO tokens I would recommend staking them to gain influence on the platform. When you then upvote someone's post, you will get 50% of that while the other half is going to the author.
- Also, it's not just about that. I don't know how popular this opinion is but if I don't know the user, I tend to hover my cursor above the username to see how much they have staked LEO. If the user has at least some LEO and the content is something I like, I usually vote because the staked LEO tells me they are committed to the platform and want to earn while playing the long game.

Conclusion

On the Hive blockchain interacting is rewarding straight from the start. I find it still amazing that people are doing it for free on many Web 2.0 platforms. As I mentioned earlier, micro-blogging really is the thing and Leo Threads and the campaign is a perfect place to start. Consider it as a gateway to the vast Hive ecosystem.

The Zealy campaign is constructed in a way that just being active and consistent, you will learn the tips & tricks to gain visibility on the platform which of course in this case means upvotes and therefore more earnings. And hey, don't forget about that amazing $5,000 prize pool!

Here is my invitation link if you decide to jump on board - you won't regret it!
