I will be honest. I used to think cryptocurrency was just for rich people.
Until I tried to send money with my bank here in Iran.
Last month I needed to send money to family. The bank asked for many papers. The line was long. The fee was high. And they said the money will take 2 to 3 days. Even inside the country, because of sanctions and limits, it is so slow.
Same week, I sent $5 of crypto to a friend. It took 2 minutes. Fee was almost zero. No line. No papers. No "system is down".
That day I understood. Crypto is quietly beating banks.
*1. Banks close, crypto never closes*
My bank closes at 4pm. On holidays, it is closed for days. If I need money at night, I must wait.
Crypto never sleeps. You can send at 2am, on Friday, on holidays. It is always open.
*2. Fees*
Banks and exchange offices take big fees. Sending money abroad is almost impossible or very expensive from Iran.
With USDT or other crypto, I can send $100 with less than $0.50 fee. For people like us trying to earn $1 per day from phone, that fee matters a lot.
*3. No ID problems*
To open bank account they want so many documents. Even then, international payments are blocked.
Crypto wallet you create in 30 seconds. No one asks. You control it. That is why many people in Iran use it - not for bad things, just because banks can't help us with global payments.
*4. Your money is yours*
Have you ever had your card not work? Or bank says you reached your limit? In Iran we know this problem.
With crypto, if you have your keys, you have your money. No one can block it.
I am not saying banks will disappear. But for us, for small online earnings, for saving daily, crypto is already better.
Banks have big buildings. Crypto just works quietly.
What is your experience in Iran? Do you also feel crypto is easier than bank?
