The hype of Y2K,
Passed without delay.
There was an irrational fear,
Yet, had no glitches whatsoever.
To find out, one needn’t be clever,
After all, ‘twas just another year.

The wee hours of 1st January,
In the Isle of Capri,
Merriment was underway.
All laughed when a boy goofed,
But, I was unmoved ---
‘Twas only one more day.
 
Everyone was hyperactive,
The place, utterly festive.
Stayed up the whole morning,
Music at full blast;
Typical of our class ---
‘Twas all rather boring.
