Emily’s always responsible,
Her parents felt lucky.
Home rules to her are reasonable,
Never thought them yucky.
Emily’s dad went searching for her,
One night, from dusk till dawn,
While at home, her mother
Wondered what went wrong.
This time, unlike her, didn’t call,
Was busy with her buddies.
They were having a ball,
But they weren’t baddies.
The search was in vain.
Her father had no idea where
Emily could be in the heavy rain;
--- Was neither here nor there.
