The day seems long
My eyes are shutting,
Trying to stay awake
Temples I keep rubbing.
The smell of medicated oil
Clears my blocked nose,
As it hits my nostrils
My mind jumbled with prose.
It's time for bed
My body is saying,
Yet with so much to do
This signal I'm disobeying.
Sleep is for the weak
I've heard this often enough,
Head keeps nodding forward
Keeping awake is damn tough.
