On the ledge,
A mere two-inch edge,
He stood quietly,
Life hung precariously.
Arrived at a decision,
Came to this conclusion,
With only a thought,
To end life, he ought.
His soul, aching,
Stopped believing
There’s avenue
For life to continue.
No dates to keep,
Any second now he’d leap
Into a world of darkness,
Complete stillness.
