Out of the darkness,
And into brightness,
I emerged from a hellhole,
Which nearly took my soul.
Thank God for the pardon,
The lockup, my Armageddon.
Got out in the nick of time,
Or I’m not worth a dime.
Escaped from the gallows,
Came out of the shadows,
Cleansed myself in a ritual bath,
Then walked the straight path.
People are most forgiving,
Allow me a decent living.
I’m forever grateful,
And will lead life, purposeful.
