As the last breath is exhaled
The tears roll down,
This is it, the final goodbye
And there is no reverse.
The chime of the clock
Catches your attention,
You look at the time
The moment frozen forever.
The world continues to spin
Nothing seems to change,
Yet, everything won't ever be the same
It's a permanent loss, totalled.
The sun rises and it sets
Everyone goes about their day,
Nobody knows or cares
That a part of you has died, too.
