A fly, buzzing around my ear,
Irritating me endlessly,
While I try to enjoy this beer,
Let my mind wander aimlessly.
‘Tis a long, tiring day,
Also nursing a blister.
Never thought it’d be this way;
Tonight is a disaster.
The insect tests my patience,
Noisily circling my head,
Stirring in me all emotions,
The hum in my brain won’t fade.
I’m awaiting the moment,
Whenever it may land,
I’ll no longer be a friend,
But give this fly its end.
