Bruised to the Core

Bruised to the Core

By emily2u | From the Heart | 13 Sep 2021

The sound of pelting rain
Pierces my subconscious mind;
I shift my body a little in bed
In my heart, protested and whined.

What time is it, I wonder?
Whatever it is, I want to sleep;
I'm tired to the bone
Over me, emotions sweep.

Monday Blues people say
For me, it's more like blue black;
I'm bruised to the core
On the verge of a panic attack.

A start of a new week
Doesn't mean I need to be happy;
With so much weighing me down
My days are just crappy.
