Previously, I - in The King is Dead - Long Live the King - I have decreed Cointiply has it abdicated its throne as the king of faucets to FireFaucet.
We're returning for a reassessment, as after using for 3 weeks in its 'post-upgrade' state, I'm ready to draw conclusions about whether the site lost its luster forever.
First off, a bit of instant good news: the sites owners have finally managed to iron out most bugs, and everything seems stable, including chat and chat rain. There is still an ember of the old fire there.
Next, we'll focus on the monetary questions out of the way first, as those are the ones everyone is here for. How much can you earn with this new iteration, if you want to use it as a faucet?
Completely passively, none whatsoever. You must click, there is no free lunch. Hold on, however, as there is more good news: you have to click at most 3 to 4 times a day to get the minimums.
This is accomplished by using the "Spins" which are wheel-of-fortune type rewards given to you on the basis of your level.
After level 20, you'll be getting 3 of these for every day you log in. Based on the sample size of 3 weeks, each spin gives an expected reward of 50 coins, so you're looking at 150 coins / day. You can also get mystery boxes, but these are given less frequently. These boxes give you an expected reward of 25 coins, and you get 3/week.
This is for the "Collector" category. You fall into this if your level is 20-49. With casual usage, you are unlikely to unlock "Whale", the next category. To get to the Collector category, you can fill out a few surveys, or just grind the PTCs for a few weeks.
This means that with the absolute minimum time investment, you can get ~160 coins / day, which, at Cointiply, work out to $0.016 USD / day, for doing pretty much nothing.
With PTCs mixed in, you can almost always reach the daily minimum activity level, which is getting 300 coins. This gives you an additional ~60 coins every day. By doing this, you get to click about 20 additonal times for 360 coins / day. It does not take more than 10 minutes of active effort, and you can do it while doing something else. This gives you 0.03 USD / day with what can still be called semi-passive usage.
Cointiply also frequently gives out redeemable codes on social media sites. If you follow these, you can almost always nab them, and redeem at least one every week. Their value is about 100 coins on average.
This gives you a total of 1225 Cointiply coins weekly, or about $0.113 every week. If you factor in the Chat Rain, which gives you a bit of coin if you register for and leave the chat there, you can get a bit more, about $0.13 / week.
This isn't a bad level of income for the negligible effort it requires, but I still like FireFaucet's fully automatic and free faucet, which I describe here. Sure, it it slower, but you need to click once per day, or, on later levels, once in a few days. I can, however, safely say that Cointiply didn't self-terminate, but metamorphosed into something new, which may return to its former glory yet.
In conclusion, it is time to give Cointiply an honest try if you haven't done so yet. It does work, and it still can be considered a faucet, albeit no longer a passive one. If you've abandoned it because of its technical issues, it is now safe to return, as it won't enrage and disappoint you with constant error codes.
You'll find my referral links to both Cointiply and FireFaucet below.
