Paypal Releases New Stablecoin that Can Freeze Accounts

Click here to read the token sourcecode for the PYUSD stablecoin.

Just a warning: Be careful, there are a ton of fake Paypal USDs being released in an attempt to scam you. Only get the official one from paypal's website or a verified news article.

Paypal and trust do not go hand in hand. They never have. There's no utility use case for PYUSD so just don't use it if you want to keep your money.

A reddit user has pointed out a screenshot of the part of code that is interesting: (Zoom in or enlarge to see it clearly)

CBDCs are likely going to behave just like this. A token enforced by the heavy hand of law. A government that does not want the best for its citizens, but rather as much control over those citizens as humanly possible.

Plus, how on earth are governments going to eliminate cash from circulation? Just wake up one day and decide that all your cash is useless? I don't believe governments are that reckless, therefor this being a dystopian theory. Regardless, PYUSD is likely not here to stay as it really does have no usecase.

Plus, they're calling it a stablecoin, meaning the price won't fluctuate? Who needs a new stablecoin if we've already got USDC and USDT? Cryptos that've never failed us before. Compared to an organisation like paypal that is known for randomly closing users' bank accounts. I've even had a close friend experience this. Close to 4,200$ just vanished and he was never let into his paypal account ever again. He'd contacted support every day for 2 months straight and he literally never - EVER got a single response from them detailing why his account was closed or how he'd be able to unclose it.

Thankfully though, he straight up sued paypal and they ended up returning his account to him with the full amount inside within the same week. Crazy how legal action fixes issues like these when a company is being untruthful and illegitimate. I've got a few other case studies just like this where people have sued paypal to get their accounts back, some even for business.

And so that kinda explains my whole point around paypal being a complete sham.

Even when I do use paypal, albeit very rarely, I'm sure to never keep over 100$ in the account for longer than 1 day. It's just a safety mechanism I've created for myself to avoid even the smallest of losses.

That's all for today, do your research, don't buy PYUSD, and cheers.
