The Merge is one of the biggest events in Crypto world and the main one for Ethereum (ETH). However, ETH could dump once the Merge has occurred:
- Buy the rumor, sell the news: until it has occurred, it will be a good bet... Once it has happened, most people will sell it.
- Staked ETH 2.0 can be withdrawn 6 to 12 months after the Merge. Even if only a portion is sold, it will still create some additional selling pressure.
- Most of the people still do not fully understand what it is about. Crypto is about mass adoption. More and more people understand Bitcoin (BTC) and even the 21 million and halving, whereas ETH is mostly reserved to the nerds... Regarding layer-2 solutions like Arbitrum, Optimism and zkSync, how many people in the world understand it?
Athough the Merge is the biggest event in Crypto after Bitcoin halving and DeFi launch, Ethereum community should think about long term adoption, otherwise many ETH hodlers could simply dump it after the Merge.
