Solana network experienced another outage this weekend, for a few hours, just because of one node which got duplicated. The codebase should have fixed the issue, but it did not work. So Solana team turned off the network and restarted it. As simple as that.
Is it bad news?
On one hand, it is one more outage, which means that investors cannot fully trust Solana yet, so the TVL cannot grow as expected. On the other hand, the team fixed the issue as usual, although they made it in a centralized way. And Solana has already experienced so many issues that we can assume the bottom is in for Solana (SOL)... Which is good news.
What can we expect?
Solana is still in betanet phase. The team will continue to work on these issues until they are fixed. It will take a few more months. It will then be a real alternative to Ethereum (ETH).
