I love that Pink Floyd song Wish You Were Here:
"So, so you think you can tell… Heaven from hell..."
That line has been stuck in my head lately, and honestly, it feels like the perfect way to describe the crypto market this year.
Like many of you, I started 2025 optimistic. The euphoria of late 2024 was still fresh—Bitcoin at all-time highs, ETH and SOL pumping, everyone talking about the next leg up. But fast forward to today, and the numbers tell a very different story:
- Bitcoin (BTC) started the year at $93,707. Now? $88,962. Down 5%. Not a disaster, but not the breakout we were hoping for.
- Ethereum (ETH) kicked off 2025 at $3,662. Today? $2,478. A 32% drop. That hurts.
- Solana (SOL) looked unstoppable at $218 in January. Now? $141. A 35% nosedive.
So, was that heaven we saw at the end of 2024? Or was it just a mirage before the gates of hell opened?
For me, this dip is frustrating but not unexpected. Markets don’t move in a straight line, and if we zoom out, the bigger picture still looks solid. Sure, Bitcoin is down from its peak, but institutions are still accumulating. The ETH and SOL drops sting, but I see them as opportunities rather than death sentences.
The bigger question: Are you still holding, or are you running for the exits?
I’d love to hear your thoughts. Are we in heaven, just taking a breather before the next leg up? Or is this hell, with more pain ahead?
