I look at the damp stain.
I don't think about anything.
What should she think about?
Isn't the existence of that stain enough to place an interpretation, a symbology, on it?
Isn't that enough to understand that the wall is responsible? Ultimately it is the architect who designed, in the solitude of his
study and under the powerful light of a floor lamp, on a sheet of drawing the construction of this house.
I look at the stain while I suck on the mate
and I don't know if she is beautiful or infamous,
when the lease expires
I'll have to scrape and paint
and the stain will disappear
but inevitable and laughable

in the eyes of future tenants.

the existence of that stain is
the masons. they acted
they did
the architect thought and in thinking there is no action.
The responsibility lies with the masons.
Or of God who created masons.
Or of the stain that, undoubtedly,
created me, this poem, the architect,
to the masons, to God.
