Like an island

I was there like an island.
They looked over their shoulder
the difference, the hole in the face.
They looked with their renewed racism,
well seen, legitimate and moral,
graduate in media engineering,
authorized to sanction and
defined part of this, artificers,
custodian, dog of this.
I was there like an island
in the aridity of the name
and in the distance in tow
with the infinite questions of the desert.
