We begin with Orbit Chain ("ORC") which is currently listed at £0.05830 with a total market cap of £26,842,880 (the result of a circulating supply of 465,987,647 which is 47% of the maximum supply). The lite-paper states that it is a multi-asset blockchain that stores, transfers and verifies information and assets which exist on various public blockchains through decentralized Inter-Blockchain Communication ("ICB"). The Orbit Chain is operated by a consensus algorithm incorporating Delegated Proof-of-Stake ("DPoS"). DPoS are able to process transactions faster than Proof-of-Stake ("PoS") & Proof-of-Work ("PoW"), however it is said to be less secure than PoW which is still where the most money transmittance occurs. It should be noted that Bitshares, Steem, Ark, and Lisk have all used DPoS based algorithms previously (note that Bitcoin uses PoW and Ethereum uses PoS).
It is predominantly being grown out of South Korea and although I was not able to find the team, it is supported by their lite-paper being available in Korean and some social media posts. As a result, you wouldn't be able to find ORC on many exchanges. It is predominantly traded on CoinOne (ORC/KRW) but can more easily be bought on CoinEal (ORC/USDT).
It's recently adopted ICON ("ICX") into its ecosystem and will soon allow consumers to trade Bitcoin ("BTC") on the ICON Network.
The Orbit ecosystem currently consists of a Decentralised Exchange (in the same vein as Uniswap and Sushiswap) and a Decentralised Lending Protocol (in the same vein as MakerDAO and Compound).
Their current roadmap looks at expanding their ecosystem as well as undertaking DApp Development in the first half of 2021 which although definitely something that is necessary for a blockhain, it does not seem something too exciting from an investing point of view.
I am not excited by this and I've come into this knowing that a lot of these will not be super exciting. However, I do not see this growing much and could be one that just drops into the heart of Mount Mordor.
I would appreciate any and all feedback while I get this going!
