One idiom per day

Happiness Journal 11/11/25

It’s the last day of togetherness for my ex-form class at NorthLight. My Co-Form Teacher video-called me and asked me if I had anything to say.

“I love you,” I declared resolutely. Normally, I suffer from verbal diarrhoea, but I know that these three words are enough to tug at their heartstrings.

Love is also what fuels me when I write two-sentence journals for my son. It’s very concerning to me that his Chinese oral skills lag behind that of English (and Japanese). Anyway, I have wisely decided to strategise the imparting of idioms. If he learns one idiom by heart every day, he will be 37 times better by the end of Primary 1. Fight!
