Yesterday, I wouldn’t have thought it possible, but I finished editing the whole of Booklet A today. With the judicious help of AI. I don’t know how Science teachers used to cope with the sharpening and darkening of images in the murky days before AI. Did everyone have a working knowledge of Photoshop? Thank goodness I don’t have to pick it up. Just making sure that an image turns out pitch-perfect would drive me insane. I now have a newfound appreciation for lackluster student essays — it’s the poison that I can live with.

My relief is mingled with a nagging sense of unsettledness though. I wish I could have finished editing the paper with time to spare — not to do other work, but to read a book or whatsoever.
Luckily, I climbed the next rung in regard to the son’s learning progress. I made him spell “thrilled” out loud in front of my P4 student - a feat that left her feeling embarrassed. Sensei always has ingenious ways of killing two birds with one stone!
Also, he regaled me with his idea of a novel invention when I picked him up from the student care. Something about showing an image of a toilet in front of a 3D printer and having a talking toilet manifest right before your eyes.
What use would a talking toilet be, for goodness’ sake? But I marvelled at how he actively lets his imagination roam wildly whereas my headspace is preoccupied with editing this and marking that. Oh well.
