This dragon kiln is one of two remaining kilns in Singapore. It’s a Chinese methodology that requires a lot of dedication for potters to make ceramic works. Wood firing necessitates a temperature of 1000 degree Celsius; this is why ceramics produced via this slow and steady method take at least one week. Electric firing is more efficient as it consumes just 20 hours of your time, but the works produced are soulless. When wood is firing, the ashes stick to the ceramics, yielding a delightful variation in the texture and stamping a unique effect.

Salt is sprinkled between the ceramic pieces to prevent them from sticking together.
