It has been a time-honoured ritual of mine to jot down my thoughts after an interview. Snippets of conversations. Questions that took me aback. Impressions of the interviewers. Basically anything and everything that would bolster my confidence for the next interview. So, today, I was happy to introduce my pro adulting tip to the sixth graders. I termed it “brain dump” and got them to fast-write anything that came to mind in regard to their preliminary oral exam. It is my earnest wish that some of them will adopt this best practice in the road ahead.

Also, this therapeutic exercise enabled me to learn that a student had not only imagined how I would have infused energy into crucial parts, but also tried to copy my example. His heartwarming brain dump thrilled me to bits.
