Two babies, Faziq and Ginny, suffered from a rare and life-threatening disease called Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Their own chance of survival depended on an exclusive gene therapy treatment. However, there was one catch. Each drug cost a hefty $2.4 million dollars.
Desperate, both pairs of parents turned to a fund-raising platform, Ray of Hope, for help. Ray of Hope launched crowd-funding campaigns in 2026, which were well-received by Singaporeans. Singaporeans from all walks of life rose to the occasion to donate. Eventually, both Ginny and Faziq got the treatment that they needed.
