I was introduced to cryptocurrency by word of mouth, but I wanted to talk about the journey before I venture into how I am investing in bitcoins etc. 

My journey is personal, and it may apply to no one except me at how my past investments led me to complacency. Investing, in general, should have been on my radar, especially as I grew older, but my focus had always been so narrow.
Focusing on family, being a mother, wife, sister, best friend, a good employee. These labels sound important but should not have stopped me from investing in my financial growth or outlook.
Sometimes ignoring what you don't have instead of solving how to get what is attainable through a process can be just as detrimental.
Because I haven't invested in the normal market other than a 403B plan seems a waste of my already limited resources.
Also, the worst part of investing in something, whether it be family, love, health, or finances, is to not even start. You have to start somewhere.
And, what may appear overwhelming isn't as intimidating when one can begin.; for example, one bitcoin at a time. This is my journey into the world of investing in cryptocurrency. The scary part in all of this is believing that my financial portfolio doesn't need any changes. Change is good, and it's healthy. That being said, I've changed as a mother, sister, best friend, employee, and I certainly believe it was for the better. Investing and understanding cryptocurrency seems my next leap into changing my outlook, as well as my financial future.
I've only dabbled, but I'm on the road regardless of the anxiety in trying something as challenging as building a financial portfolio. To some, it's a piece of cake, but for me, it's all about the empty calories that caused me to pause. I still have a sweet tooth, and so I've taken a bite, and so far - it's sweet.
