Recently a friend asked me where they can earn crypto. Those who have been in crypto for some time, know that this rabbit hole is full of false promises of ridiculously high-yield returns, Ponzi schemes, rug pulls, and lots of other unspeakable techniques used by scammers. Therefore, it's important to keep each other safe and talk about our successful experiences (and those not so successful too) in this blockchain world. Here is my short but honest list of things I'm currently doing to earn crypto:
Cointiply: a legit, low-yield platform to earn small amounts of cryptocurrency through several tasks, where one of the most reliable ones is paid-to-click (PTC), where you watch 5 to 60 second adds of all sort, mostly online crypto casinos, evident scams, and some other legit websites where to engage with crypto digital products. Other options are to answer surveys, play games (the lowest earning option, do it only if you actually enjoy the game, and never pay for earning). Users earn "Coins", the internal currency, pegged at a fixed rate where 10,000 Coins = $1.00 USD.). These points can then be withdrawn directly into personal wallets as Bitcoin, Dogecoin, Litecoin, or Dash. With a minimal daily effort on only PTCs and some low-effort extras, you might expect to earn in average 550 coins or 0.05 USD a day. Not a life-changing amount, so better do it at moments when you don't have anything else to do, like in public transport, useless meetings, etc. You can check my referral code if you want to join (and support me!): https://cointiply.mobi/kRWQlx
Publish0x: You’re reading this on it! Publish0x is a crypto-focused blogging platform where readers can tip authors in crypto (USDC), with a current maximum of 0.04 USD per day (as per my experience). Better is to become a writer, and writing about topics you already care about is probably the most sustainable way on this list, because the earning can range from 0.07 to 0.4 USD, depending on the popularity and quality of your posts. The posts topics are mostly about cryptocurrencies, but many of us explore topics of a different kind. Specifically, I focus on my passion for science, space, technology, and futurology. Sunflower Land: Sunflower Land is a blockchain-based farming game where you plant crops, gather resources, and complete tasks. I declare myself guilty: I've always loved farming games since my childhood, so it was a win-win situation to discover this game and, moreover, the blockchain integration. Items and in-game tokens can be traded or withdrawn. It’s more fun than the other items here, but be realistic: in-game economies change, and rewards depend on the game’s token and market conditions. I've played for more than a year, I didn't invested any upfront money on it, and I've been able to earn small amounts of FLOWER (the in-game currency living on the Base blockchain). If this sounds as something you would enjoy, you can give it a try at the following link:

where you and me will receive some small in-game rewards.Staking in app.morpho.org: Unlike the previous items, this one earns with capital rather than time. On app.morpho.org, you can deposit assets into lending vaults and earn yield from borrowers. This is where the risks get more serious. Yields are variable, and smart contract bugs, vault strategy risk, and market conditions can all cause losses. Only use money you can afford to lose, read how each vault works before depositing, and track from time to time the status of the vaults, as some of them are just provisory. However, APYs range between 5-20%, depending on the day. I've experienced myself depositing USDC in low-yield but safer vaults like Gauntlet USDC Frontier and Stakehouse in the past.
Decentraland: Now I'm not too much active, but in the past years, I went all into the blockchain-powered metaverse which is Decentraland. Previous times were great since you could play from your browser, but now it is mandatory to download the software in your hopefully gamer-grade computer. It has been criticized because of the brutal loading times, glitches and low quality of the 3D world, but as a child who played Atari and GameBoy, I'm totally fine with low resolution as long as I get some fun. In this world, you can meet, talk and interact with real people, own assets such as wearables, Worlds and plots of Land, which you can use to put there whatever you want: casinos, games, art expositions, you name it. You can also create wearables and sell them in-game, or exhibit them in your online metaverse shop. I believe this is lots of fun, and I'm actually bullish on it for its applications to education, but in my impression it is a bit stuck due to technological advancements (VR glasses are not so good and not so accessible to the common lore). I intend to return at some point in the near future, and when I'm back I hope to see you there and that you accept my invite ;) https://decentraland.org/invite/Cosmologa
Most of these options are really small amounts of crypto, but if you are in your learning journey, you can learn to perform fully decentralized on-chain transactions with this digital money using your decentralized wallets such as Metamask. This experience, in my opinion, has more value than any profit you can hope to make. I've used this pennies to teach friends how to enter this world, and even give away some crypto obtained in this way, so they can at least afford the gas fees. My final words are that you better try by yourself before believing anyone online (like me), experience and failures are the best teacher. Be safe out there, and never invest any money you can't afford to lose.
What do you think, is it worth to earn tiny amounts of crypto, and what do you do to earn and to avoid scams?
