Blockchain technology is thriving in it's infancy. Innovation and improvements amongst projects continue to evolve, driving competition amongst some of the most well known blockchain platforms. Ethereum, for example, was once considered the fastest and cheapest option in blockchain, but now has a diverse peer group of competitors, like Cardano and Solana, that are offering cheaper rates, increased speed, and a vast variety of utility options.
Ethereum is not alone in the growth of competitors, though, as MetaMask, the leading cryptocurrency software wallet, has a new competitor that's saying Tally Ho! to high swap fees with a new and improved web3 wallet. Announced in August of 2021, Tally Ho is an open source wallet that is proudly owned by it's community. Created in response to MetaMask moving it's code to a tiered proprietary license, the founders of Tally Ho wanted to create a wallet that provides users with features and tools they want without sacrificing aspects of decentralization.
Tally Ho boasts a few other advantages compared to MetaMask. By using Alchemy and BlockNative in it's infrastructure, Tally Ho is able to offer higher transaction success rates and more accurate gas fee estimates. In addition, Tally Ho will offer cheaper swap fees at a rate of .05% compared to MetaMask's 1%. On top of that, all fees earned on the platform are poured back into the DAO to ensure the growth and development of Tally Ho aligns with the wants and needs of it's community owners indefinitely.
Tally Ho has already released their pre-alpha Community Edition wallet on 12/15/2021. The full featured wallet is still in the works, listed as "coming soon" on their Governance Overview page. In preparation of their DAO release, Tally Ho is on the hunt for involved community members that are interested in participating in their governance by becoming a delegate. Delegates play an important role, allowing users to choose a delegate to vote on their behalf for the good of the DAO. All community members are invited to apply to be a delegate here.
