Burnt skin

Burnt skin

Burned skin makes me think of Giordano Bruno. Certainly, in his case it wasn't only the skin that gotten burned, but well, in the frame of reference of this post, it was collateral damage.

Like Copernicus and Galileo, Bruno supported geocentric astronomical views. Unlike them, however, he didn’t hide them like Copernicus and didn’t denounce them like Galileo and was burned at a stake. Many commentators in 19 and 20th century regarded him as a martyr of science.

Truth to be told, Bruno was not burned for his astronomical views, but because of his denial of several core Catholic doctrines, including eternal damnation, the Trinity, the divinity of Christ, the virginity of Mary, and transubstantiation. So much for stubborn Bruno.

That and I also happened to burn my fingers. But in a much lesser daunting setting than the court of Holly Inquisition. )))

The one who controls the past controls the future and the one who controls the present controls the past, and we all who don't control the present don't control anything.
