The Internal Revenue Service of Brazil, a public body in charge of controlling the customs system of that nation, launched a platform called Bconnect developed by the Serpro company based on Bolckchain technology to connect its customs with the customs of its neighboring countries Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay.

With the use of bolckchain technology in the project, the reduction of administrative costs and the reduction in the time of procedures is also pursued, the reliability of the data of licenses, permits, certifier and free trade agreement between member countries.

The United States Customs and Border Protection Service has already explored the use of blockchain technology in its activities.
