Polygon, a blockchain platform focusing on decentralized applications (dApps) on Ethereum and using interconnected sidechains called "child chains," has become more popular and known worldwide. For example, in June 2021, Polygon announced its partnership with Chainlink, a decentralized oracle network, to bring real-world data to dApps built on the Polygon network. This move will allow dApps to access off-chain data such as prices, weather data, and other factors.
A recent example of Polygon's popularity and usage is when it comes to arts and creativity. As art on the blockchain becomes increasingly popular, NFT platforms are becoming more accessible, providing artists and their communities with tools to engage with art in ever more creative ways. This means that the Polygon blockchain is now a part of web3 integration for creative individuals and communities.
One such example is Rarible which has entered a partnership with Polygon by providing artists with the means to create their own markets. Rarible allows creators to mint, sell, and collect digital assets such as artwork, music, and videos. Recently, Rarible has been gaining popularity among digital artists and collectors as a way to monetize and authenticate their work, including by using Polygon-based Dapps.
