The advertiser that stakes the highest amount of PRE tokens against a keyword will get their ads displayed first at the top of the search results for that keyword.

Thus you can easily tell where your ads will be displayed when you stake. If you want it at the top of the page, all you have to do is stake the most amount of PRE against your chosen keyword.

And when someone outbids you, you can simply top up your stake to reclaim your position.

As of the time of writing this post, staking against keywords on Presearch is free until June 2021. That means that you will be charged nothing for advertising on the search engine until June 2021.

 

How to stake against keywords on Presearch

How do you stake against specific keywords and what happens after you stake?

If you don't have a Presearch account yet, do yourself a favour by creating one right away.

Because you need it to be able to create ads and stake against keywords on the search engine.

All you need is a working email address and a good password, and you're good to go.

Once registered, login and click on Keyword Staking as shown below.

To stake against any word or phrase, type it into the keyword search box and then click on the Stake This button by the right-hand side as shown below.

You will see the top stake PRE amount and a link to the current ad occupying the first position for that keyword.

You will also notice that the system has automatically filled in the amount of PRE you require to outbid the current ad occupying the first position.

Proceed to fill the form with your Ad headline, a concise description, and the destination URL. And then click the Next button by the bottom right-hand-side to preview your ads.

If you're satisfied with how the ads look in the preview, then click submit and your ad will be live immediately.

The amount of PRE you allocated for the ad will be frozen. And you can take them out any time you want by cancelling the ad and unstaking your token.

Now when people search for the term Bitcoin or whatever word you staked against, your ad will show up at the top of the search result as shown below.

How keyword staking works

There're a few important things one must know about Keyword Staking and how it works.

Currently, when you stake against the keyword "what is keyword staking" for example, your ad will be displayed when someone searches for that exact term.

Your ad will also be shown when someone searches for just "keyword staking" as long as no other person has staked PRE against that exact keyword.

The ad may also be shown when someone searches for the words "keyword" and "staking" individually, but again, only IF nobody has staked PRE against those words. 

But if someone else has staked against these related keywords, only their ads will show when users search for them. And yours will only show when users search for the exact match of your own chosen keyword.

Therefore, you need to do proper research to determine the exact words or phrases your potential customers are searching for and staking against those keywords to get more qualified traffic.

 

So in summary:

  • Ads will go live immediately you submit them. If you're not ready to run an ad immediately, don't submit it yet.
  • Anybody can outbid you anytime and you will have to top up your stake if you want to reclaim and retain your first position. Usually, you will get an email notification when you're outbid so that you can react.
  • Multiple users can stake against the same word and their ads will be ranked accordingly in the search results where multiple ads are supported. I haven't started seeing multiple ads yet though, but I believe it will be supported as soon as possible as the search engine is still being refined.
  • If someone cancels their ad, the next user will take their place automatically.

  • You can stake on multiple keywords at the same time, as long as you have enough PRE tokens to go around all of them.

  • Ads are currently free until June, so enjoy the free traffic to your website, blog, or affiliate products while it lasts.

There's a maximum supply of 500,000,000 (500 million) PRE tokens, according to data from CoinGecko and CoinMarketCap.

That means that the amount of PRE tokens available for Keyword Staking among other use cases is in limited supply.

Currently, almost 9 million PRE tokens are staked against the keyword "Bitcoin" on Presearch. Which is the most valuable keyword on the search engine right now.

With this kind of competition for the first position for popular keywords and a limited PRE token supply, what do you think will happen to the price of PRE?

Demand will outstrip supply, and price should naturally shoot upward as more people acquire PRE to stake among other use cases.

That's not all.

In the same view, according to data from Statista "Ad spending in the Search Engine Advertising segment is projected to be $171,641,000,000 ($171.641 billion) in 2021".

And it is projected to grow by 5.35% annually until 2025, which should put the figures at $211,421,000,000 ($211.421 billion) by 2025.

If Presearch can capture only 5% of the search advertising market share, the project would have a market capitalisation of $10,571,050,000 ($10.5 billion).

At that market cap, each PRE token will be worth over $21.

Is a 5% market share possible for the decentralized search engine? We can only wait, watch, and see. But I think it can achieve that much and even more.

However, even a 1% market share will give the project a market cap of $2,114,210,000. And a price per token of $4.2 which is a 4100% increase from the current price of $0.1.

From the above analysis, it's obvious that the PRE token is insanely undervalued based on its Keyword Staking use case alone.
