I wrote this post for r/Bitcoin but it was actually removed because it was perceived as having nothing to do with Bitcoin. Say what? Am I so ahead of the adoption curve that even seasoned Bitcoiners are still coming to grasp with it?!
I couldn’t help but feel happy because I am typically the guy who buys last season’s products when everyone else has moved on. But in regards to Nostr, I have gone all in when the rest of the world is awakening its eyes to it.
Eventually, I found r/Nostr and posted it there. Will post it here as well since someone actually got onboarded on Damus after I wrote about it. I’m an experienced Bitcoin hustler trying to educate the world!
Let me count the ways
- Frictionless experience. Just need to head over to iris(dot)to and choose a name. Your public and private keys will be generated, empowering you to export them anywhere.
- That’s right. You can use the same username and keys on multiple clients. Android users will likely gravitate towards Amethyst; iPhone users will download Damus.
- Because you are only known by your public key, your privacy is secured as you don’t doxx yourself by having to offer personal information about yourself.
- Damus allows you to post Lightning Network invoices in your notes. Who knows? If you follow enough people and immerse yourself actively in the space, you may find that your invoices get paid because kind Internet strangers just want to have fun.
- I haven’t been lucky enough to get any Zaps yet, but I have been playing Cowdle - a Wordle-like game - on Damus. Sometimes, I guess the six-letter word faster than everyone else and have anything from 3 to 75 sats sent directly to my Zebedee account! How cool is that!
Are you on Nostr? How do you find your experience so far?
