Presearch And The Issue Of High Ethereum Gas Fees

Presearch And The Unsolved Issue Of High Ethereum Gas Fees

At the end of 2020, Ethereum gas fees became problematically high. Projects that are using the Ethereum blockchain were heavily affected by this development and had to come up with a solution. Presearch is one of these projects that is affected by high Ethereum gas fees but there is still no solution.

You guys know me as a big fan of the Presearch search engine and I still am. However, I don't understand why the problem of high transaction fees isn't solved yet.

In case, you don't know the Presearch let me explain. Presearch is a blockchain-based, decentralized search engine powered by the community. The unique selling point of Presearch is that you will be rewarded with Presearch tokens ($PRE) each time you use Presearch to search the internet.

If you like to know more about Presearch, I recommend reading my ultimate Presearch user guide here on Publish0x.

The current practice holds new users back from using it. I can see it in the performance of my referrals over the course of almost two years now. Right now 10 out of 15 new sign-ups never use Presearch. They only signed up once but never used it. From the five new users that are using Presearch, some will stop using it.

This is a bad performance but it has never been as bad as over the course of last year.

It starts that you need 1000 $PRE tokens to request a withdrawal. No more than 30 searches per day are paid and currently, you earn around 0.0773 PRE tokens per search which is an amount that changes dynamically with the price of one PRE token.

According to my math, this is a maximum of 2.319 $PRE tokens per day if you are doing all 30 searches. Considering the current price of $PRE, this is a fair amount just for searching in my opinion. I mean they pay you for something that you are usually doing for free, so it is basically free money that you are getting.

However, it will take you 431 days with 30 searches a day to search the amount of 1000 $PRE.

When you reached 1000 $PRE tokens from searching the web then congrats: You can withdraw your rewards which currently works like this.

Submit a withdrawal request and click the link in the e-mail to confirm the withdrawal request. In former times, this was all you had to do but now you have to cover the gas fees with $20.

To do this, you need to send an e-mail for instructions to pay the Ethereum gas fee. You will get the instructions in an automated email like this one.

After reading the instructions from the automated email, you need to write another email to another email address and state that you are seriously willing to cover the $20 gas fees.

Then after some time, you will receive an email with detailed instructions on how to pay. After your payment is done, you need to reply to this email with proof of payment in a screenshot and the transaction hash.

Then after some time, you will receive your 1000 $PRE tokens.

Is this convenient? I don't think so. It is complicated and holds users back from actually using Presearch.

Ethereum gas fees are high for more than a year now and we don't know if Ethereum 2.0 which is hopefully around the corner will solve this issue.

This can't be the final solution.

For some months, I am reading the note that this complicated process will soon be self-service using your own web3 wallet on the payout page. Well, this would be at least one solution but also not the best. I mean how should this work? Even if there is a web3 wallet on the payout page, you still need to have Ethereum in it if you want to send your $PRE tokens.

A better solution in my opinion would have been either a layer 2 solution like Polygon or Loopring or switching to another blockchain like Binance Smart Chain or running on two or more chains simultaneously. Instead of solving the issue of high Ethereum gas fees, the team of Presearch used its resources to develop stuff NFTs which absolutely no one needs. I do not understand this.

I have the impression that Presearch is simply hoping for Ethereum 2.0 to solve the issue. Personally, I hope that this issue gets solved because I really do like Presearch a lot and I still prefer using Presearch instead of Google.

My Final Words

I am using Presearch for around two years now and I am still a big fan of the decentralized search engine. I believe that cryptocurrency enthusiasts like you and me don't google, they presearch! I really want Presearch to be successful but, however, I still remain critical. In my opinion, the issue of high Ethereum gas fees should have already been solved by Presearch a long time ago. Unfornutaley, nothing has happened for far more than a year.

I hope I could provide you with some useful and interesting information about Presearch and if that's the kind of stuff that you like to read on Publish0x, make sure to hit that follow button at the end of my post.

Don't forget that if you haven't signed up for Presearch yet, you can still receive your first 25 $PRE for FREE just for signing up via this link.

If you like to stay up to date on the developments of the project, I recommend following Presearch on their social media channels like here on Publish0x, on Twitter, on Medium, or on YouTube.
