A few weeks ago, $SPOT became the third tipping token on Publish0x and you are able to earn $SPOT tokens for writing, reading, and sharing good content.
As soon as you have reached a minimum of only $1 in SPOT tokens, you can request a payout to your own wallet. The transaction fees on the Ethereum blockchain are completely covered by Publish0x.
If you are using a common wallet like Trust Wallet or Metamask then you have to add $SPOT as a custom token to your wallet. Here is how it works.
Not All Tokens Are Visible In Your Wallet
When you withdraw $SPOT to your own wallet like Metamask or Trust Wallet, the tokens won't be visible right away unless you have added them manually as a custom token.
Don't worry. First, you can check everything in your wallet by searching your Ethereum address here on Etherscan. Secondly, adding a custom token to your wallet is easy and quickly done.
$SPOT is a newly issued token and at least for now, you have to add it as a custom token to your wallet. Once you understood how it works with $SPOT, you will also be able to add any other custom token to your wallet. Everyone who likes to go non-custodial to take full control over their own assets should know how these things are working.
Find The Token Contract Adress
If you want to add any custom ERC20 token like $SPOT to your existing wallet, you need to find the smart contract address of the token you want to add.
The best places to search for the right smart contract address are the homage of the project, CoinMarketCap, CoinGecko, or Etherscan. Once you've found the right address you can copy it to your clipboard.
Add A Custom Token To Your Wallet
Two of the most popular wallets are Trust Wallet and Metamask. There are already some good alternatives for Metamask on the market like Tally Ho! that you can use. Adding a custom token to one of these wallets works more or less the same way as with Metamask or Trust Wallet.
When you open your Trust Wallet app, click on the control slider on the upper right and then click the "+" sign on the upper left. When you have done so, this window will appear in your Trust Wallet.
Make sure to select the right network for the token you want to add. In the case of $SPOT tokens, it is the Ethereum network. Then paste the contract address and the other fields should be automatically filled. If the decimals do not appear then you find the correct number on Etherscan as well. $SPOT has nine decimals.
On Metamask, it doesn't work much differently, you only need to find the right option on the interface.
You need to select the correct network first, in case of $SPOT the Ethereum mainnet. On the bottom, you will find the option to import tokens.
Click it, fill in the smart contract address and add the new token to your wallet.
That's it. Now you can send and receive $SPOT tokens with your own wallet.
