MakerDAO, the organization behind the Stablecoin Dai (DAI), is trying to establish Dai as the real parameter of a dollar-related value for the video game and blockchain game industry.

Blockchain and crypto are becoming increasingly important in the gaming industry. MakerDAO argued that "soft currencies" in games "don't always feel authentic". In a blog post dated March 11, the organization wrote:

More and more game developers are discovering the power of Dai and integrating it into their games. A much-needed plug-and-play financial ecosystem for video games, Dai allows value to grow organically with user engagement

MakerDAO suggests that its Dai Stable Coin could serve as a key integration between decentralized finance (DeFi), Fiat gateways and video games. That's why the organization launches the Dai Gaming Initiative Bounty Program to incentivize developers to work with Dai and receive rewards.

MakerDAO also stated that there could be Dai integrations in both traditional games and blockchain games. Both industries develop increasing economic complexity in their games.

With the advent of blockchain games, a new category of crypto assets has emerged. These are known as non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Their main feature that works well for games is that they are unique and collectible. They do not act as currencies.

MakerDAO is trying to expand the use of Dai in online gambling marketplaces and to build a number of partnerships with the creators of NFTs. In-game blockchain assets are to be developed with the Dai brand.

The bounty program is divided into four categories. The first of these is a 5,000 DAI award for the best DSR integration in a game. DSR is short for Dai Savings Rate. This is a DeFi feature that allows Dai holders to lock their tokens into a smart contract and receive additional Dai as dividends.

Two additional prizes, each worth 2,500 DAI, are awarded for the best experience in player-against-player and player-against-evil modes. For the latter mode, the "ingenuity" is particularly rewarded.

Finally, two 1,500 DAI prizes will be awarded for the most creative integration of Dai into a game.
