Just like last week, this week's Splinterlands content topic stems from an insight by a guild member about the increase in participants fleeing during guild brawls. Therefore, let's understand if this is really happening, the reasons behind it, and possible solutions. Come check it out!
I'll be much appreaciated if you Upvote, Reblogs or give any Tips. Thanks and have good reading! 🍀
[ENGLISH VERSION]
Guild Brawls with more Files
Recently, in one of the latest Splinterlands posts, I mentioned the importance of guilds in a post about Thanksgiving, talking about the positive aspects of being in a guild, which goes far beyond rewards, because it is often the first contact a player has with other Splinterlands players and with the game's ecosystem itself. Therefore, finding a good guild is fundamental, because it will help you understand the game.
Still on the subject of guilds, as I mentioned before, one of the most important points is the help it will provide, with members giving tips on how to improve in the game. However, as before, another important aspect of the guild will be the topic that was more of an insight. In the last Guild Brawls, one of the members – I believe it was the guild leader – made a comment asking his guildmates if there were more people running away from battles in Guild Brawls. At the same time, I think it was also a question for the others, because he also wanted to know if this was happening to more people.
He went on to say that it could be like the other guilds that didn't join Fray. However, this sparked an insight into the issue that made me, once again, take a closer look, at least at the information available to me. The first observation was quite simple and surprised me: I checked my own Guild Brawls matches to see if the same thing that happened to the other guild member also happened in my matches—players fleeing the games. To my surprise, when I checked, I noticed that out of 9 matches in total, at least 3 had the message "Opponent Fled," confirming the initial observation that several people were fleeing.
What are the reasons and solutions for the problem?
If I'm not mistaken, this phenomenon of players abandoning matches wasn't as common before with this same intensity. After all, we're talking about at least 33% of matches that had no combat at all. The question is, what could have caused this? The first option has already been raised by the guild member, which would be players from a guild that ended up not participating, which leads us to the question of the reasons why a person doesn't play and consequently the solutions that would prevent this from happening.
The first possibility is that there isn't an efficient notification mechanism on the screens indicating the time until the next Brawl stage, meaning a player might simply forget to check if they haven't written it down or remembered. Therefore, the first solution would be to add a notification icon or a small timer displaying key events, accessible from anywhere in the game, to remind players of important in-game activities. Currently, this information is available on the Play Store, but players keep forgetting…
The second issue could also be a lack of incentives. Since players aren't making an effort to participate in Brawls in such a large proportion, perhaps it's because they don't see incentives to do so. Therefore, a possible solution would be to add some kind of mission or additional reward like glint to encourage players to participate more frequently.
Finally, I believe there might also be a problem with the number of players. Splinterlands used to have over 30,000 active accounts, and currently we have close to 4,000 active players every day. So, if we divide the players between guilds and levels, it might end up a bit empty? One solution, if it's not possible to bring more people into the game, would be to allow another guild member to participate in place of a member who couldn't.
