The Splinterlands Social Media Challenge is a way for Splinterlands players to share a moment or news with the rest of the community, giving their point of view on the subject. Therefore, for this week's event, we will address two topics, the first is to try to understand a little more about the proposal related to Card Rental, which has been intriguing many players. The second is some upgrades made to the Deck with cards from the Glint Shop.
I'll be much appreaciated if you Upvote, Reblogs or give any Tips ( PIZZA 🍕, PGM 🎮, LOLZ 😆, ALIVE ❤️, etc ). Thanks and have good reading! 🍀
[ENGLISH VERSION]
New Rent Proposal
Source: Splinterlands Proposals
A new proposal has been created in Splinterlands, which aims to make rentals only available per season and no longer every 2 days. This proposal is still in the Draft phase, but since it already has more than 70% of the votes in favor, it is very likely that it will proceed to the next phase. However, several comments, questions and suggestions were addressed in the proposal's comments section regarding the pros and cons of this new way of renting cards.
The Positive Points raised in the comments and by the next founder of Splinterlands, yabapmatt, in the discord were basically related to Cost and ease. By limiting card rentals to the Season, there would be a reduction in the infrastructure cost of both the servers and the blockchain network itself, because the volume of transactions would be reduced, happening only once every 15 days and no longer every 2 days, that is, 7 times fewer transactions for the same function in the case of the person who wants to rent to play throughout the season. The second point is that since Lands and Survival Mode will work with a seasonal rental system and to avoid players having to re-rent cards when they cancel or every 2 days, this seasonal rental system would make everything simpler.

However, some players raised some questions about what would happen in the matter of Tournaments and Brawls, in which the rental of cards occurs. cards specific to certain rules and that would not be used throughout the season. Furthermore, the issue of the high cost of testing a new strategy or a new card was also raised, because you could no longer rent a card for a short period of time to test, but would have to rent a card for a long period of time that you don't even know you're going to use during the season.
Recent Deck Upgrades
During the week I shared through Snaps some upgrades that I made it in the Deck with my Common and Rare cards from the Rebellion Rewards collection, which is available as a reward in the Glint Shop. I had collected a good amount of Glint Rewards throughout the past seasons, so I was able to buy a good amount of cards to evolve some cards. So, I'm going to share 3 cards that have had their level up and have gained new abilities or more stats.
Starting with the first card, which didn't have any major changes, it was the Broken Earth Thug, which evolved to level 3, gaining an extra Shield stat. This extra stat is nothing when compared to a new skill, but it makes the card more Tank, withstanding an extra hit from an opposing melee card just because of that 1 shield. In the case of the Chaos Adjutant, upon reaching level 3, he gained a new ability - Snare - which counters flying monsters, taking away the flying they have. Because it is a Neutral element card, you can use it in any situation where this ability is needed, making this card key in situations where you need Snare.
However, a card that I consider very strong and that with the upgrade became extremely strong is Mar Toren Trader. At level 3, this card gained the Headwinds ability that reduces the attack of enemy ranged units by -1, and since it has a low mana cost, it can be used against several compositions that use ranged monsters. In addition, this card by itself already has very good stats that the ability becomes almost an extra, because it has 4 HP and 2 ranged attack for only 3 mana.
