Since the Splinterlands social media challenge is intended to share relevant information with the community, I found a very important piece of information that the community will be very pleased to know, but also something to keep an eye on. While researching the data, trying to understand whether the card market was stable or if it had increased due to Foundation Cards, I came across an even more interesting piece of information related to the number of matches.
In the Peakmonsters battle chart, which compiles the number of daily battles played by players, I noticed a significant increase in recent days, so I decided to investigate and share the details with the community. I invite anyone interested in learning more about player activity in Splinterlands to come and find out more about the game's current status regarding match numbers and activity! Relevant insights will be shared below!
I'll be much appreaciated if you Upvote, Reblogs or give any Tips ( PIZZA 🍕, PGM 🎮, LOLZ 😆, ALIVE ❤️, etc ). Thanks and have good reading! 🍀
[ENGLISH VERSION]
Analyzing the Number of Battles in Splinterlands!
As I mentioned earlier, when I looked at the graph showing the number of battles played each day, I was surprised by the sheer number. The reason is that the number of battles up until then had been below or close to 50,000 matches, with lows around 45,000 matches. However, starting on July 30th, the number began to climb to well over 50,000, reaching over 62,000 matches on that day. What could have been an isolated incident continued to repeat itself on the following days, with a low of 56,000 battles on August 5th, which is higher than the peak before July 30th. Most surprisingly, on the last day of the count, the number of battles reached a record high of 71,000 on August 8th.
This total number of matches represents almost double the minimum number of matches that had been taking place in Splinterlands. This question led me to wonder what could have happened to cause the total to increase so much. I decided to start investigating the number of Modern matches played in the last few days. In doing so, I came across another surprising insight: the number of Modern matches has been steadily decreasing. The highest number of matches played was on July 9th, with 16,199. After that, the average was between 14,000 and 15,000 matches, but after July 30th, the number of matches started to drop closer to 11,000 or 12,000. We'll return to this point in a later section.
Continuing the analysis with Wild Format, to discover where the increase in matches came from, we discovered by analyzing the graph that the reason for the increase didn't come from Wild Format either. This is because there was no increase in the total number of matches, but rather a steady number, which always remains between 20,000 and 25,000 matches, with no major variations.
So, eliminating the Modern and Wild Formats suspicions, only Survival Mode remained. We finally arrived at the answer. Survival Mode's match peak began on July 30th, where the number almost doubled, going from 3,900 matches to 6,356. After that, there was a drop, but it has since risen again, reaching a peak of 8,587 matches. It was certainly the increase in the number of Survival Mode matches that was responsible for the growth in total matches.
Survival Mode Update

I believe the Survival Mode update is responsible for the increase in the number of matches played in this mode. Now, with the new update, cards defeated in Survival Mode are on cooldown only for use in Survival Mode matches, but can be used in other modes. Previously, they ended up being unusable for other game formats, which caused some players to avoid this new Splinterlands game mode, but now they're starting to get interested.
Where are the Frontier mode matches?

I believe one of the reasons the Modern Format match count has decreased is that some players have migrated to Frontier Mode and, since they don't have time to play both modes, have been focusing solely on Frontier lately. This raises the question of whether the total number of matches shouldn't be even higher because Frontier mode matches aren't being considered, given that there are many posts on social media from players sharing their experiences and rewards.
